Schedule of Events

Fidelco has made several changes to the Walk in an attempt to streamline the event.  By reducing the amount of time and money spent on this all-day effort, we can concentrate our time, energy and resources on our guide dog program that directly benefits our clients. And we know that the time you spend with us at the Walk will be both enjoyable and meaningful.

8:30a.m.   Opening Ceremony  Join the Fidelco staff , clients and guide dogs at the balloon rainbow for the official start of the 2008 Walk for Fidelco.  The First Governor’s Footguard Band will get us on our way to the journey ahead.

Along the route you will pass the Honor/Memorial trail. Take a quiet moment to view the many candles that are lit in memory and in honor of loved ones, both human and canine.
Visit our quick stops to get recharged with complimentary drinks and snacks. Portable toilets will be available along the walking trails.

Rest Areas will be located near the start of the Walking trail.  Here you can sit and relax to the music provided by DJ Vin Scaramuzzo. Starbucks will treat you to complimentary coffee and don’t forget to check out the great Fidelco merchandise at the souvenir tent!

10:00 a.m.  Foster and training staff will leave you in awe with demonstrations of the journey that guide dogs take from pup to partner.

10:30 a.m. The closing ceremony gives us a chance to say “thank you” for taking a few extra steps to help men and women who are blind make great strides along the road to independence with Fidelco guide dogs at their sides.
