Schedule of Events - Manchester Community College, May 15, 2010

 8:30a.m.   Opening Ceremony Join the Fidelco staff , clients and guide dogs for the official start of the 2010 Walk for Fidelco.  The First Governor’s Footguard will get us on our way to the journey ahead.

The beautiful, paved walk routes wind their way around the campus of Manchester Community College.  Rest areas will be located near the start of the walking trail where you can sit and enjoy the music provided by The River 105.9.  Starbucks will treat you to complimentary coffee; take a break to visit the vendors at our country fair. Relax with the talented therapists from the American Massage Therapy Association and receive a complimentary massage. Don’t forget to check out the great Fidelco merchandise at the souvenir tent which will be open until 1:00 and the fantastic handmade items and gift baskets at the silent auction tables. Bid high, bid fast.

10:30 a.m. K-9 Demonstration-The Connecticut State Police will demonstrate the diversity of the German Shepherd Dog with some of our state’s finest K-9 teams.

11:00 a.m. Foster Pup and Training Demonstrations-Foster and training staff will leave you in awe with demonstrations of the journey that guide dogs take from pup to partner.

11:30 a.m. The closing ceremony gives us a chance to say “thank you” for taking a few extra steps to help men and women who are blind make great strides along the road to independence with Fidelco guide dogs at their sides.

11:30-1:00  Free Fidelco Concert with the Diamond Collection-Celebrate Fidelco’s 50th Anniversary with a free concert. Bring a chair and pack a lunch or visit our food vendor as you experience the music of the one and only Diamond Collection. Come party with us as this energy-packed band has you rockin’ and rollin’ to the music of Neil Diamond.
