Team Captain
REGISTER yourself as a walker as soon as possible!! Indicate your own name as Team Captain. You can register using the form in the Walk brochure or online at www.firstgiving.com/fidelco
Recruit at least five other walkers to join your team. Start with your own family and friends; enlist co-workers – ask them to reach out to family and friends.
Give each team member his or her own Walk brochure to track and collect donations. There is no minimum or maximum amount!
Instruct team members to collect all donations in advance of the Walk and turn them in to you OR, bring them to the registration table the day of the Walk OR, mail donations to Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, 103 Old Iron Ore Road, Bloomfield, CT 06002. (Monies received no later than June 1, 2008 are eligible for prizes.)
Be sure each of your team members registers – either online or by submitting the registration form provided in the Walk brochure. For proper credit, make sure they know to include your name and/or team name when they register.
Set a goal- You and your registered walkers will be eligible for team prizes as outlined in the Walk brochure.
Encourage participation – by team members as well as sponsors!
Hang Walk posters in your workplace so people know they can contact you for additional information and to join your team.
Use the posters to publicize the event. Post them in your local library, grocery store, school, gas station – anywhere that will allow you to display them.
Use the enclosed listing in your company newsletter and/or e-mail it to your friends and family. Include your name and contact information for anyone interested in participating.
