About Fidelco
Fidelco: A Dream in Progress
Charles H. Kaman’s dream of an organization dedicated to providing people with visual disabilities with the highest quality guide dogs possible has grown in ways even our founder may not have envisioned when he started the organization in 1960.
As we move ever closer to our fiftieth year of service, we are still a dream in progress.
Our pioneering “In-community placement” program has expanded from New England to 32 states and Canada. Our staff, volunteer base and facilities have expanded to keep up with the demands of a guide dog foundation that is considered an industry leader.
And we have just scratched the surface. Ahead of us are new and exciting ways of serving people with visual disabilities that include the use of technologies that enhance our guide dogs’ capabilities. In conjunction with Lions International, we are supporting a low vision center that will help address the needs of the Baby Boomers; a generation of people whose sheer numbers threaten to overwhelm traditional eye care providers. And we are exploring innovative ways to leverage our existing expertise on behalf of our clientele.
Fidelco is truly a dream in progress. But it’s a dream that continues only with your support. Thank you for believing in us and we look forward to continuing and expanding our many relationships.
