Fidelco's Mission
The Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation is dedicated to promoting increased independence to men and women who are blind by providing them with the highest quality guide dog. Fidelco is the only guide dog school located in New England and serves individuals residing in 34 states and four Canadian provinces. We pioneered, and still use exclusively, “In-community Placement" in the United States. This training program enables the guide dog recipient to remain at home with the support of family and friends while training with their new guide dog. They go to places and travel along the routes they will use daily. The program has been widely endorsed by our graduates because they are able to tackle everyday challenges with their trainer while remaining at home and at their places of employment. |
